Cookie Policy

(1.) Cookies

(1.1.) Necessary cookies:

Also called “strictly necessary”, they ensure functions without which you would not be able to use this website as intended. These cookies are used exclusively by us and are therefore so-called first party cookies. They are only stored on your computer during the current browser session (e.g. the so-called “session cookie”). Furthermore, such cookies guarantee the functionality of a change from http to https, for example when changing pages, and thus compliance with increased security requirements for data transmission. Consent is not required for the use of strictly necessary cookies. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be deactivated via the function on this page. However, they can be deactivated at any time via the browser used.

(1.2.) Functional cookies (preference cookies) to ensure the performance of the website:

These are cookies that, by purely legal definition, are not strictly necessary to use the website, but nevertheless fulfill important tasks. Without these cookies, functions that enable convenient surfing on our website, such as pre-filled forms and certain content, are no longer available. Settings made, such as a language selection, cannot be saved and must therefore be requested again on each page. Furthermore, we will no longer be able to respond to you with customized offers.

(1.2.1) Vimeo

We have included videos from the provider Vimeo.com, Inc, 330 West 34th Street, 10th Floor, New York, New York 10001, USA, in various places on our website.

We have no knowledge of and no influence on the possible collection and use of your data by Vimeo. You can find more information in the Vimeo privacy policy at https://vimeo.com/privacy and Vimeo cookie information at https://vimeo.com/cookie_policy.

The legal basis for the data processing associated with the integration of the videos is Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR, based on our interest in being able to present our content to users in the most appealing digital form possible.

(1.3.) Performance cookies (statistics cookies) to analyze website usage

Statistics cookies help us to understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information about user behavior anonymously. These cookies help us to understand how the users of our website behave, e.g. which subpages are visited and which content our users are particularly interested in, in order to improve content and functionality for our users.

These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in processing the data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

(1.3.1) Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, small text files that are stored on your computer and enable us to analyze the use of the website.

The following data is recorded during your visit to the website:

• Pages viewed

• Orders, including sales and products ordered

• Your behavior on the pages (e.g. clicks, scrolling behavior and length of stay)

• Your approximate location (country and city)

• Your IP address (in abbreviated form, so that no clear assignment is possible)

• Technical information such as browser, internet provider, end device and screen resolution

• Source of origin of your visit (i.e. via which website or advertising medium you came to us)

The information generated by the cookie about the surfing behavior of our website visitors is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Through certification under the Privacy Shield Agreement, Google guarantees that the data protection requirements of the EU are also complied with when processing data in the USA. You can find more information in the following linked entry: https://www.privacyshield.gov/ps/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active

For data protection-compliant processing, we use the anonymization function, whereby your IP address is already shortened within the EU or the EEA. By anonymizing the IP address, the interest of users in the protection of their personal data is adequately taken into account.

By analyzing the data obtained, we are able to compile information about the use of the individual components of our website. This helps us to continuously improve our website and its user-friendliness. These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in the processing of data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:

https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

You can also prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent your data from being collected on future visits to this website: Deactivate Google Analytics

Your browser must therefore allow the storage of cookies. If you delete your cookies regularly, you will need to click on the link again each time you visit this website.

(1.4.) Marketing cookies to control advertising campaigns:

Third-party content has also been integrated on this website. These third-party providers can theoretically set cookies while you are visiting the website and thus, for example, receive the information that you have accessed one of our web pages. Please visit the websites of the third-party providers to obtain further information on their use of cookies.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

(1.4.1) GoogleAds conversion tracking and remarketing

This website uses the online advertising program “GoogleAds” and, as part of this, conversion tracking. GoogleAds stores a cookie on your computer if you have reached our website via a Google ad. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information collected with the help of the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for Google Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers find out the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified.

This is also our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f) GDPR.

Deactivate Google AdWords

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can easily deactivate the Google conversion tracking cookie via your Internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

This website also uses the remarketing functions of GoogleAds. The remarketing functions are used to analyze visitor behavior and visitor interests and enable us to show you interest-based advertisements within the Google advertising network (e.g. in the Google Display Network or in Google Search) after you have visited our website. The anonymized analysis of our website visitors is also in our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f) GDPR.

Google uses cookies to carry out the analysis of website usage. This cookie is used to uniquely identify a web browser on a specific end device and not to identify a person; personal data is not stored.

(1.4.2) Facebook Pixel

This website uses Facebook Pixel, a web analysis service of Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”) on the legal basis of overriding legitimate interest (analysis of website use). We have concluded a data processing agreement with Facebook for this purpose. Some of the data is transferred to the USA. The transfer of data to the USA takes place on the basis of the Privacy Shield.

When you visit our website, a connection to the Facebook servers is established via software and data is transmitted to Facebook servers, some of which are located in the USA. Facebook Pixel also uses cookies to store information about the website user and to analyze the use of the website by website users.

According to Facebook, Facebook will use the data collected to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage.

Facebook may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law or where such third parties process the information on Facebook's behalf.

Detailed information on how Facebook handles user data can be found in Facebook's privacy policy.

The legal basis for our legitimate interest in this is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f) GDPR.

Deactivating Facebook Pixel

You can prevent the collection of your user data by Facebook Pixel on this website by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent your data from being collected on future visits to this website: Deactivate Facebook Pixel.

(2.) Tag management using the Google Tag Manager

We also use Google Tag Manager technologies on some of our websites. Google Tag Manager is a service provided by Google Inc (Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) that allows companies to manage website tags via an interface. Google Tag Manager is a cookie-free domain that does not collect any personal data. Google Tag Manager triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. This may be indicated separately. The Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If deactivation has been carried out by the user at domain or cookie level, this remains in place for all tracking tags that are implemented with Google Tag Manager.

The legal basis for our legitimate interest in this is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f) GDPR.
